Once Falconbridges Butchers. This entrance was the slaughterhouse, the butchers shop was next door on right.

The old Working Mens Institute fenced off for demolition. Just to the right of Thompsoms gates here on corner of Manilla St stood The Prince Alfred, a Trumans house.

L to R Hutchings Wharf, Freight Express Wharf and St. Lukes School – viewed from the top of Topmast Point. Demolition work already begun on the school. Express Wharf offices stood almost facing Havannah St. Row of offices and shops on left of photo is named Canterbury Place, built 1855, now with only 2 shop units – nos.46 and 50 left standing. Express Wharf office block demolished sometime in late 80’s or early 90’s
